MIKE MARTIN
Senior Pastor
Pastor Mike came to First Baptist Huffman in 2007. He has over 30 years of ministry experience, most of which has been served in the northeast Houston area. He is passionate about seeing people come to know Christ as their Lord and Savior and experience growth through worship, Bible study, and community with other believers.
He is a graduate of Hardin-Simmons University and received his M.Div. with Biblical Languages from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is married to his best friend and college sweetheart, Kathy. Their favorite human beings are Liam and Olivia, who call them Papa and Grammie.
JONATHAN SWIRSKY
Youth & Adult
Education Pastor
Jonathan Swirsky was born and raised in Houston, TX. He graduated from Liberty University (B.S. Youth Ministry) and Liberty Theological Seminary (M.Div in Biblical Studies).
Jonathan and his wife Amber have five children, Alek, Lily, Liza, Libby, and Tevvy. When not spending time with his children or the youth of FBC Huffman Student Ministries, he likes to relax with his wife, play board games, and barbecue. He also serves as the chaplain for the Hargrave High School football team.
He has been at FBC Huffman since 2019 and is very thankful for the opportunities for ministry God has placed before Him.
RONI PENNINGTON
Children's Minister
Roni Pennington has been a member since 2017 and has volunteered in the Children’s Ministry every year since. In 2021, she took an interim Children’s Minister position for a year. She revised her role in May 2023. She is very passionate about teaching kids about sin, salvation, and Jesus. She believes every child, from birth on, need to hear about Jesus’ love for them and learn to open the Bible themselves.
KEN BUCK
Worship Pastor
Ken Buck has been a member at First Baptist Church Huffman for over 20 years and has served as one of the Worship Pastors for almost 15 of them. He loves to worship the Lord and to lead others in worship.
Church has been an important part of bringing up his family with his wife Cathey and kids Clayton, Emily, Casey and Hailey. Ken is also an Orchestra teacher in Humble ISD.
LARRY SHARP
Worship Pastor
Larry has served as one of our Worship Pastors for almost 15 years. He has been a member at First Baptist Church Huffman since 1993.
He and his wife, Aloha, have been blessed with two children, Nathan and Brianna, and two grandchildren, August and Eden.
Larry loves to worship in song and word with a desire to solely point others to Christ and lead them into a time of worship individually and corporately.
KIM LEWIS
Ministry Assistant
Kim Lewis joined our team in 2021. She loves using her gifts to serve and help others be successful in ministry. She and her husband, Gregg, have two married sons and five grandkids. Kim enjoys baking, gardening, and water sports. Most of all, she loves spending time with her family.
KAREN KIDD
Ministry Assistant
Karen Kidd joined our team in 2022. She has been a member of First Baptist Church Huffman since 1995. She and her husband, Max, have four children and eight grandchildren. Karen enjoys baking, cooking, playing games and spending time with her family.
RONNIE NEIMEYER
Facility Superintendent
Ronnie Neimeyer and his wife, Claudia, have been members of FBC Huffman since 2006. He became the Facility Superintendent in 2012.
Ronnie and Claudia have two children and six grandchildren. Ronnie also serves as a deacon.
MEGAN MILLS
Recreation & Event Director
Megan Mills joined our team in January 2024 as Recreation & Event Director. Megan grew up in Huffman, Texas, and graduated from Sam Houston State University in 2010. She and her husband, John, became members for FBC Huffman in 2012. They have 3 children: John Jr., Alyson, and Jack. Megan loves animals and currently has a small hobby farm. When they aren’t taking care of the farm or working, their family enjoys camping, game nights, and being on the water.
